In a list of terrible life events, doctors place separation just under the loss of a loved one. Many people experience the same range of emotions, such as shock, denial, anger, blame, sadness and depression.

Talk to friends and family or get professional help. We have a closed Facebook group called “separated but surviving” which you are welcome to join for support from others. Children will also be affected, and it’s very important not to assume they will be okay and to look at how you can support them.
