Every day is market day in Cairns! So which one are you off to? There are plenty of markets happening in and around Cairns, showcasing all sorts of goodies. Shopping local has never been easier, pick up your produce, crafts, and everything in between. 

Heading North

Port Douglas Markets

Every Sunday 8.30am – 1.00pm
Market Park, Wharf Street, Port Douglas.
Take a drive up the coast and check out the weekly market happening at Port Douglas. Stalls showcase local produce, treats, artwork, crafts, clothing and much more. There are plenty of food stalls too.

Marina Markets

Every Wednesday 11.00am – 5.00pm
Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, Wharf St, Port Douglas
This market overlooks the beautiful Dickson Inlet and often hosts live music between the months of April through to January. Browse the unique stalls and who knows what you’ll discover as you watch the local reef tours arrive and depart.

Mossman Markets

Every Saturday 7.00am – 1.00pm
Under the raintrees, Foxton Avenue, Mossman
Pay a visit to this gorgeous little town, where the markets are situated underneath the canopy of gorgeous towering raintrees. Browse local organic produce and handcrafted items, and there is an all abilities playground opposite the markets.

Palm Cove Markets

First Sunday of the month 8.00am – 2.00pm
Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove
Browse local quality handmade products including jewellery, leather work, pottery, clothes, skincare, wellness stalls, food and much more. The road Williams Esplanade is partially closed off for the markets for you to wander. Markets on between April to November.

Clifton Beach Markets

Third Saturday of every second month 9.00am – 2.00pm
Clifton Village Shopping Centre, Captain Cook Hwy, Clifton Beach
Held within the local shopping centre at Clifton Beach every second month. Here you can find locally made gifts, jewellery, trinkets as well as enviro-friendly products and community information. Markets begin every February of each year.

Holloways Beach Markets

Second Sunday of the month 8.00am – 1.00pm
Beachfront, Oleander Street, Holloways Beach
Take a stroll right by the ocean shore and discover local crafts, produce, homewares, plants, treats and delicious foods. You can park at the northern end and stroll south, so you can pick up lunch from one of the stalls along the way and end at the playground.

Rusty’s Markets

Every Friday & Saturday 5.00am – 6.00pm / Every Sunday 5.00am – 3.00pm
57-89 Grafton St, Cairns
Rusty’s Markets is iconically Cairns. It began around 30 years ago and is now one of the best known markets in the Far North with over 180 stalls selling locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as other foods such as honey and bread. There are also stalls selling crafts, toys and more.

Cairns Night Markets

Every Day 4.30pm – 10.30pm
71-75 The Esplanade, Cairns
The Cairns Night Markets is a must-see. It’s a perfect spot to visit after dinner as it’s open late, or you can go and have dinner there at one of the various food locations. There are over 70 stalls offering souvenirs, clothing, arts, crafts, homewares, skincare products, jewellery and much more. You can even go for a massage or manicure.

Tanks Markets

Last Sunday of every month 9.00am – 2.00pm
46 Collins Avenue, Edge Hill
Visit a market that is situated in the middle of the rainforest and discover local produce stalls as well as clothing, collectables, craft, natural health products and yummy foods. There is often live entertainment as well as a jumping castle for the kids. Open from April to November.

Woree Markets

Third Sunday of every month 8.00am – 1.00pm
Cannon Park Car Park, 585 Mulgrave Rd (Bruce Hwy), Woree
Browse a range of goods at marquees and car boots ranging from local produce to furniture, bric-a-brac and everything in between. If you’re hungry, head on over to the sausage sizzle for a snack.

Gordonvale Cottage Markets

First Saturday of the month 7.00am – 12.00pm
Norman Park, Gordonvale
Run by their local Scout Group, you’ll find a great variety of local talent and vibes, with plenty on of goods on offer. Discover handmade gifts, fresh local produce, delicious treats, toys and flowers.

Mount Sheridan Plaza Community Markets

Second Sunday of the month 9.00am – 3.00pm
Mount Sheridan Plaza, 106 Barnard Dr, Mt Sheridan
Peruse the stalls and find a range of quality handmade artworks, plants, pottery, clothing, books, bags, toys, beauty products and much more. Why not head into Mount Sheridan Plaza and browse the shops there too?

Up the Tablelands

Kuranda Heritage Markets

Every Thursday to Sunday 10.00am – 3.30pm
Rob Veivers Drive, Kuranda
You’ll find all sorts of quirky goods at the Kuranda Heritage Markets, from artwork to toys and goods made out of kangaroo pelts. Kuranda is famous for its markets, and upon visiting, you’ll quickly notice why. The market is also home to the Kuranda Koala Gardens and Birdworld Kuranda as well as a historic plane wreck. There’s plenty to see, and you can easily spend several hours there just seeing it all.

Kuranda Original Rainforest Markets

Every Thursday to Monday 9.30am – 3.00pm
7-11 Therwine St, Kuranda
Across the road from the Heritage Markets behind the shops, you’ll find the Original Kuranda Rainforest Markets. Follow the paths that wind through the rainforest and discover handmade crafts, treats, artwork and most of all, great local vibes.

Malanda Markets

Third Saturday of the month 7.30am – 12.30pm
Malanda Showgrounds, Malanda
Browse over 120 stalls selling fruits and veggies, homemade cakes and jams, books, arts and crafts, clothing and tools. There are refreshments available as well as amusements for kids.

Atherton Markets

First Saturday of the month 7.00am
Platypus Park, Herberton Rd, Atherton
A smaller market selling fresh fruits and veggies, plants and arts and crafts.

Mareeba Markets

Second and fifth Saturday of the month 7.30am – 12.30pm
Centenary Park, Mareeba
A country fair where you can look at amazing homewares and purchase fresh fruit and veggies. There are plenty of stalls to explore and it’s a delight for bargain hunters and is proudly run by St Thomas Primary School

Yungaburra Markets

Fourth Saturday of the month 7.30am – 12.30pm
Main St, Yungaburra
Discover local produce, arts and crafts, homewares, jewellery, delicious food stalls and even live chickens – Yungaburra is a typical Tablelands markets, where many locals come to catch up with friends.

Ravenshoe Market

Fourth Sunday of the month 8.00am – 12.00pm
Railway Station, Grigg St, Ravenshoe
Featuring 30-40 stalls that sell cheap from-the-farmer fruit and veggies.

Herberton Market

Third Sunday of the month 7.30am – 12.00pm
Wondecla Showgrounds, Herberton
Featuring approximately 40 stalls with fruits, vegetables, homemade items, cakes, jams, leatherwork, plants and much more to discover.
