Last month I had the pleasure of taking Pacific Toyota’s RAV 4 GXL for a week, and what a neat car it is.At first glance, the car seemed nice and compact, but once I hopped inside I was surprised at the spacious interior.
Five passengers of all shapes and sizes can comfortably fit inside, and a surprise feature is the heated seats for the front seat passenger and driver, perfect for those three weeks of winter where us North Queenslanders are literally freezing our bottoms off because we have no warm clothes; you can now keep it warm in your car. Amazing!
There are also built in cup holders and dual air conditioning controls so there is no more fighting in the front as to the speed and temperature of the air-conditioning.
Another favourite feature is the large 6.1-inch touch screen display. You can access music and phone calls, live traffic updates and navigation all at the touch of a finger. The best thing about the touch screen is the reversing camera, which was very handy when reversing into tricky parking spots as well as providing a piece of mind when reversing in busy environments including schools and shopping centres.
Storage is another biggie for me when looking for a new car, and the RAV4 GXL has a large multi-level boot space, which fits plenty of groceries and with easy fold down seats, even the most awkward shaped objects can fit into the RAV 4.
My most favourite feature of all would have to be the keyless entry. All you need to have is the key in your bag and you can open any door with the touch of a finger to open and lock- perfect for mums with their hands full, which lets face it, is all the time.
Safety is very important, especially when it comes to your family being on the road. The RAV 4 has an extensive range of advanced safety technologies like the Supplemental Restraint system airbags which includes front passengers and driver knee bags. Driver and front passenger side air bags and all round curtain shield airbags. There is also a seatbelt reminder feature on the dashboard so you know if one of your passengers are not wearing their seatbelt.
