IVF is the process of fertilisation by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus. Any additional embryos not used, can usually be frozen for later use.

IVF isn’t always successful on the first round. That said, IVF has successfully helped many people become parents. It can be a challenging process emotionally and physically, but a very rewarding one of course if successful.

You are going to have ups and downs on this journey, so it’s really important that you prepare yourself, your partner, and your support team to go on this journey with you.
